He was the former Head, Dept. of Teachers Education, NCERT and former Director, State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), New Delhi.

He has contributed extensively for teacher education and had been member of various high level committees formed by the Government of India.  He has written various books and research articles on Teachers education, curriculum development and pedagogy. He is also the Member of the Education Reforms Commission Govt. of Mizoram for the improvement of quality of education in the state.
