Prof. R. P. Hooda

He is presently the Vice-Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana. Prof. Hooda has raised to this eminent position by dint of diligence, passionate love for academics, and relentless pursuit of purpose to excel in life. After having passed his Matriculation with distinction from Punjab University, he came to Kurukshetra where he pursued his higher studies with zealous interest culminating into earning a Ph.D. in Economics.
Prof. Hooda is an academician administrator of merit. During his long career of 35 years, he has held with distinction a number of top academic and administrative positions. He remained Professor in the Department of Business Studies/Commerce for eighteen years and built up the Department as a centre of excellence as its Chairman for nine years. He adorned the offices of the Registrar, Dean Faculty of Commerce and Management, and Director, Directorate of Distance Education, all at his alma mater - the Kurukshetra University. He was Director of Apeejay Institutions at their Dwarka Campus (New Delhi) for quite some time. On an earlier occasion, he also worked as Director, Academic Coordination, at Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. Immediately prior to taking over as the Vice-Chancellor here in the M.D.University, Rohtak, Prof. Hooda held the position of Vice-Chancellorship of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.
Prof. Hooda is a widely traveled man. He has been on education vision to countries like England, Germany, Belgium, and France. He has also traveled extensively within India. Everywhere he has left a distinct mark of his amiable temperament, cosmopolitan outlook, and profound scholarship.
Prof. Hooda has throughout remained a dedicated teacher and an inquisitive pupil, ever ready to learn as much from books as life itself. His students and scholars have always flocked to him as an assured treasure house of love, knowledge, and concern. Prof. Hooda has been a teacher of singular repute. His contribution to research in the form of published research works, text-books, and research papers has been widely recognized. |
